Orders, Which Villa Be Obeyed...

The following is an absolutely genuine list of men who have managed Aston Villa Football Club since the late 1960s. I thought nothing of it at first glance, but then one name did begin to stand out as being slightly unusual. I did a bit of checking to make sure I hadn't imagined it, but yes, number eight really was the manager of Aston Villa in the early 1990s. Here is the list:

1: Tommy Docherty (1968-70)
2: Vic Crowe (1970-74)
3: Ron Saunders (1974-82)
4: Tony Barton (1982-84)
5: Graham Turner (1984-86)
6: Billy McNeil (1986-87)
7: Graham Taylor (1987-90)
8: Dr. Jozef Venglos (1990-91)
9: Ron Atkinson (1991-94)
10: Brian Little (1994-98)
11: John Gregory (1998-Jan 2002)
12. Graham Taylor again (Feb 2002 to May 2003)
13. David O'Leary (May 2003 - )

Apparently, Villa saw his appointment as the final solution to their defensive problems.

Indeed, you're right, a genuine list of Villa managers. But please, do you have to rub it in? As someone who has grown up with an interest in AVFC, I find it distasteful to have to peruse the list of incompetence since 1982 (Mr. Little excepted). Now, the major questions to be answered at AVFC? John Gregory / David O'Leary - twat or cunt? There are those who would address this as a question of absolutes, so I'll introduce the factor of Harry Redknapp to encourage a little relativity. Heh, heh. Now you know why I don't like football.
